I Tried Organic Activewear So You Don’t Have To (But You’re Gonna Want To)

don’t fall in love easily. Especially not with activewear. It usually promises too much and delivers too little. Seams that dig, fabrics that suffocate, and sustainability claims that collapse under a single Google search. But when I slipped into Mate the Label’s Organic Stretch Biker Short and Organic Stretch Sports Bra, something shifted.

It didn’t just look good. It felt honest. Which, let’s be real, is rare. So this is my completely unsolicited, unapologetically biased Mate the Label review. Spoiler: I’m obsessed.

Now that i've tested out the set for long walks acround town, workouts, and even lazy work days in cafes I can give you my honest feedback.

Sustainable Activewear

If your algorithm hasn’t fed it to you yet, Mate the Label is a Los Angeles-based brand that makes organic essentials. Think activewear, loungewear, and basics that don’t wreck the planet—or your endocrine system. Everything is made with non-toxic, GOTS-certified organic materials, sewn ethically, and produced in small batches. It’s the kind of brand that reads your aura and your carbon footprint.

Mate doesn’t scream trendy. It hums conscious. The vibe is: clean-girl aesthetic meets planet-healing priestess.

And that’s the exact mood I wanted when I tried their activewear.

Those strings poking out of my pillow are KILLING ME, but I digress.

Non-Toxic Activewear

Let’s be clear: this isn’t fast fashion. You’re not paying $12 for a poly-blend tank that will end up smelling like gym locker sadness after two wears. Mate the Label is designed to lastin quality, in style, and in sustainability.

The fabric doesn’t pill. The seams stay intact. The shape holds after washing. And the feeling you get when you wear it? That I’m-a-hot-clean-conscious-babe energy? That lingers too.

Plus, the brand is Climate Neutral Certified, uses low-impact dyes, and ships in compostable packaging. If you’re tired of greenwashing and want to support a label that actually walks the talk—Mate is it.

Honest Mate the Label Reviews

The one thing I don't like about the set I ordered is that it is see-through in this color way. When I ordered it I figured i'd have to wear something skintone under it, but didn't realize even that would be slightly visible. Looking back at the product images, it is obvious and I overlooked it. I suggest a different colorway if that's an issue for you.

After wearing the Organic Stretch Biker Shorts and Sports Bra, I’m officially converted. This isn’t just activewear. It’s healing couture for people who lift weights, meditate, or just really care about what touches their skin.

The shipping time was okay - nothing to be excited about or complain about.

So if you’ve been Googling “Mate the Label reviews” wondering if it lives up to the aesthetic Pinterest boards and ethical branding… the answer is yes. A sweaty, stretchy, skin-loving yes.
