How To Survive Your Local Music Festival

We all know that music festivals are hectic, and if you've ever been to one, you know what things are necessary to survive one. Everybody goes to have fun, but seems to forget very important things that should be brought along. Here are ten must-have items you should have with you if you're going to a music festival.

1. Small Bag

In a music festival, the last thing you want to be doing is carrying around a heavy bag with you. You will be walking a lot as well as dancing a lot, and you do not want to have a huge bag on you. It's tiring! That's why you should take a small bag that's not heavy, but allows you to pack the necessary items; a small backpack, a fanny pack, or a small shoulder bag. And keep it on you at all times. Music festivals are usually very crowded.

2. Comfortable Shoes

Since you will be walking and standing a lot, comfortable shoes are a MUST! Take some comfy sandals or sneakers to avoid any pains or blisters. You want to have fun and see everything there is in the music festival. Don't let a wrong shoe choice ruin your experience.

3. Snacks

Always bring snacks! You will get hungry and want something to munch on, so if you don't bring food, you will end up wasting a lot of money on the food they have there. So bring in your bag a few protein bars, dried fruits, or small sandwiches to last you the day.

4. First Aid Kit

You never know what can happen, so you always have to be prepared. Take some bandaids and aspirin just in case. You don't want a horrible headache in the middle of the music festival to ruin your day.

5. Freshening/Disinfecting Wipes

Stay fresh and clean by taking with you some wipes. Nobody wants to smell or look a mess, especially if you're going to be taking pictures or if you're hanging out with a group of friends. So bring wipes to keep the dirt and sweat off you. And you never know what you might have to disinfect.

6. Lightweight clothing

If you're going to a music festival, you will get hot at one point. So to keep yourself cool, use lightweight clothes. Don't use thick articles of clothing, or else you will only get hotter. For men, shorts and a tank top are the way to go. Women, on the other hand, have way more options. They can wear skirts (preferably skirts that are not tight and stick to the body), with a bralette or a crop top. Or they can just use shorts and a tank top as well.

7. Portable Phone Charger

There are no outlets outside, so if your phone runs out of battery, the only thing that can save you is a portable charger. You need your phone to take pictures, videos, and meet up with your friends, so you do not want your phone dying on you.

8. Bottled Water

You need to stay hydrated at a music festival. With all the walking and sweating, you will get thirsty. It's a mild workout at a festival and if you don't bring water, you can start feeling light headed and can even pass out. It's very important to drink water for your health.

9. Sunblock

Another very important item to take with you to a music festival. Since you will be under the sun, you will need sunblock to protect your skin. You don't want to look red and end up with a horrible burn, so bring a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 15. Having a sunburn can also affect you by making you feel lightheaded, so please, protect yourself.

10. Blankets

More than likely, you're going to need somewhere to sit, so take with you a blanket to sit on. You can also take a chair, but blankets are much lighter and easier to put away, as well as carry around.
