Get in the Habit of Focusing on YOU
Summer is the time for exploration, beach days, travel, and enjoying life. In the midst of all the excitement and relaxation it is hard to stick to a regular routine. Although people want to let themselves go during the summer, that term should be taken figuratively and not literally. We believe there are certain rituals that must be followed in order to have a successful summer.
Exercise is extremely important in maintaining a healthy body and mind. Exercising daily has countless benefits. A good workout ritual will help you lose weight
and tone your body. In the summer especially, we are all dying to have a stellar beach bod.
The good thing about the summer is there are so many ways to stay active under the sunshine without having to hit the gym. Sunrise and sunset runs are a must-do in the summer, what better way to workout than with a pretty view. You can even get active on the water by paddle boarding, which is a great way to strengthen your core and arm muscles.
After exercise, not only your body, but your mind will thank you as well. Working out is one of the best ways to de-stress after a long day. When you exercise, your brain produces dopamine which actually causes you to be in a better mood, how cool!
A healthy lifestyle starts in the kitchen. Food nourishes our bodies so that we can have energy to do all the exciting summer activities we please. A balanced diet is key in giving you long lasting energy so that you can have fun in the sun all day long. It is important to eat from all the food groups and to be mindful of proportion sizes.
When you eat right, you will feel better internally and you will feel better about yourself, giving yourself a new unmatched confidence. Our biggest nutritional advice is to eat breakfast.
You’ve heard it before, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Breakfast is your body’s first meal after hours of sleep, it is needed for your body to begin metabolizing.

Take Care of Your Skin
Any good summer is filled with sunshine but sunshine comes with harmful UV rays. There’s an easy way to protect yourself from the sun, sunscreen
As a kid, your parents probably forced you to wear sunscreen every time you left the house. As you get older, no one is forcing you to wear sunscreen, but you should do it for yourself. Too much sun can cause premature aging, and skin cancer. Next time you're spending a day at the beach, take five minutes to apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
Faces are especially susceptible to sun damage, be sure to cover your face in sunblock to avoid wrinkles later on in life. Water is essential to life. Water is also very important to skin health. Staying hydrated is something you absolutely have to do this summer. Hydration is key to clear and healthy skin.
Disconnect and Take Time for Yourself
Social media is quickly taking over the world. It is important to disconnect from social media and connect to reality every once and awhile. Yes, the summer is filled with amazing picture opportunities but sometimes it's better to take in the moment then worry about what picture you are going to post on Instagram.
The people texting you can wait but a single moment is fleeting. Go on a spontaneous adventure with your best friend and leave your phone at home, but don't forget your favorite bikini!
