• Claire Liu of Von Vogue on Personal Style

"Most of my style inspiration is from magazines (my favorite one is Harper’s Bazaar), fashion runway shows, and Instagram fashionistas."

I’m not the kind of person who follows every single of the latest fashion trends, because these styles might not suit me while some fashionitas can definitely pull off the styles. Some of my friends (females and males) have asked me for some “fashion” tips, but I always told them this, “study your body type, learn to love it and wear in the clothing that you’re comfortable and confident with.”

"My style philosophy is to aim for versatile chic by mixing and matching designer pieces with affordable and stylish ones."

You don’t need have every item to be glamorous; one or two statement pieces are just right to make you look polished. I suggest one should invest a good designer piece that will last in the long run and can reflect your own sartorial taste, despite the current trend. Sometimes my outfit can be as simple as it seems, but I always like to add a few of statement pieces (such as a bold necklace) or interesting prints/textures (stripes and plaid) to enhance the details on the whole look.

  • Body Chain Jewelry Never Goes Out of Style

Body chains are one of the most popular and up-and-coming trends in the fashion world.

They started to pop up in the bohemian and chic scene and then expanded to nearly every style. They’re bold yet simple Fashion Accessories that elegantly go well with every outfit. Whether you use the body chain to wear with a bikini, dress or just casual outfit, it’ll add flare to your attire. The use of body chains and body jewelry can be traced back to Indian origin. The woman of the area would decorate their waists, sides and other body areas with chains worn over there dresses or exposed skin. Then, the style moved into Europe, where women started wearing the chains with crop tops.

They come in many shapes, sizes and styles.

The chains can range from being simple and dainty to chic and bold. From real gold to plastic. Some have no charms and beads, others are covered in them. Depending on the look you’re going for, there’s a body chain for everything. The most popular chain that’s being worn is the ‘cross body’ chain, made popular by celebrities like Rihanna and Beyonce. It’s a good way to accent the natural curvature of your body.

Body chains have been more commonly seen as accessories for swimsuits. Single colored swimsuits no longer have to be bland. By simply adding a body chain, big or small, the swimsuit will simply pop. It’s recommended that your bikini chain isn’t too bulky and large, since you don’t want a weird tan line. You also don’t want to get caught when playing in the water.

The cheapest and most simple outfits and clothing pieces can become elegant and fashionable in an instant with body chains. Try wearing a body chain over a dress. That little black dress never looked better with a cute gold body chain.

Body chains don’t have to be expensive pieces of jewelry.

Nearly everywhere you shop will offer some sort of body chain. Each body chain is different and will make every outfit look unique. Try wearing a longer body chain with a large charm on it with a crop top. It’ll bring attention to your fabulous body as well as your stylish body chain. You can spruce up a simple collard shirt and make it sexy and perfect for a night out with a body chain and a few less buttons. Wearing a plain shirt with high waisted shirt can seem boring, but will look super fashionable with the addition of a body chain. Almost instantly your outfit will have a whole new look and feel.

Going for a natural and bohemian look? Wearing some natural and earthy tones and then adding a long body chain can give you a very ‘hippie’ vibe.

Wearing these cute accessories spruces up nearly every outfit in your wardrobe.

Owning just one body chain can give you twice the number of possible outfits. If you buy a few more (since they’re not all that expensive, usually), just imagine all the possibilities! Another simple style of body chains are bikini body chains. They’re dainty but also very edgy. When wearing shorts, skirts or dresses, the addition of a bikini chain can add a new elegant feeling to your outfit. They can also draw attention to your hips and legs, as they are generally worn on the thigh. These chains usually don’t have charms or anything bulky on them. As well as this, there are cute arm chains as well. These will occasionally have charms on them. These arm chains are great for when you wear tank tops or crop tops.

All in all, body chains are a great and fashionable way to add to your outfit. No matter what look your going for, or what your price range is, there will always be some Body Chain Jewelry that is perfect for you.

  • Mermaid Adventures Somewhere Under the Sun

Mermaid Adventures Somewhere Under the Sun

Brazilian-born,  currently living on the north shore of Oahu, a mermaid bodyboarder, model, designer and photographer who defines her style as boho mermaid surfer girl meets hippie, bumps into gypsy, country and a bit of rock N roll.

Claudia Cox has dreamed of Hawaii since her youth. Raised in the small town of Matinhos in the southern part of Brazil, Cox learned how to surf at the age of twelve. From that point on, she shared a goal with many other like-minded wave riders. “As every non-Hawaiian surfer’s dream, mine was to come to Hawaii and surf the North Shore of the island of Oahu,”

After short stints as a competitive bodyboarder, model and stunt woman, Cox found herself adrift in Hawaii, searching for “the next big thing.” That’s when a local casting director noticed Cox’s unruly dark curls and athletic build, traits that made her a dead-ringer for the star of the newest prime-time sensation. Cox would work as a stand-in for Lilly’s character “Kate” on LOST for the next few years.
And when the tv show ended she decided that she had enough and was again searching for “the next chapter” , here is a bit more on how photography became her “new thing”.

I always loved to design everything, I modify almost everything I own, adding to it, cutting a little here and there, re-dying, re-sewing … I  started designed a couple gowns one of them for my friend Evangeline Lilly wear at one of our local premiere of Lost and surprising enough she was vote the best week  dressed by people magazine, a lingerie line after that with my two best friends then  after that we had a house fire where all our belongs burned to the ground and I lost all my designs and samples so I was again asking myself “what’s next?” .

I then started to designed jewelry, and because every time I had a new piece I had to have photos of it  for the website, so I bought myself a camera and started to shoot it myself on models. And that’s where photography entered my life, after that I got a GOPRO which I mount on a GOPOLE  and been shooting underwater self-portraits, wave shots and even fashion with it  and posting on my IG,  after that  I started to get requests for collaborations with companies and other artists. From there I been photographing almost everyday, I live in Hawaii and it’s like living in a giant outdoor studio, everywhere you look it’s like a photograph itself.

    Being A Mermaid

I have a different connection to water than what I have with people. It is as if I can merge my soul with water, and it is then I truly become one. Within water I feel loved unconditionally, revitalized, refreshed, renewed, happy, pure, cleansed, and euphoric. All these words do not fully describe the feelings that water brings…

    My Inspirations

Inspired by hand-me-down treasures from the earth, Mother Nature, family and friends, childhood fairy tales, favorite books, travels, different cultures, colors and textures that remind me of the things I love.

I love to do photography and brand collaborations, but only if it makes sense. When both parties share the same values and appreciates each others communities, the results most likely will be incredibly meaningful and impactful.” Being a model/photographer allows me to share trends, and have an intimate connection with my readers/followers.
