Jeffree Star seems to be one of the more self-aware, honest people in the online influencer game. Having weathered more than a few online controversies, Star has learned a lot of lessons on how to play the game, and what matters most.
Jeffree Star Bio
A search for Jeffree Star reveals that the influencer has a fairly-detailed Wikipedia page that highlights some background information and some things to look for if you’re curious about what he does. One of the interesting aspects of his profile is how he was raised by a single mother who was often working on assignment as a model.
That fact is interesting for more than one reason. For instance, when Jeffree started out on a journey to online fame, he was doing something else entirely. But, almost as if it was in the blood, he eventually found his way into the fashion and beauty world, showing that interest early on.
Jeffree Star Music
This influencer might be guiding you to some of the best products out there now, but that wasn’t the case back in the early days of social media. Star shows both charisma and vision by being able to get his following on some websites to follow him over to the first big social media website: My Space.
On there, he not only continued giving the commentary people knew him for, but he started showing off some musical skills, quickly becoming one of the more popular artists on the site. While he doesn’t do music anymore, he’s got a bunch of EPs and an album to his credit, according to Wiki. It also lists a bunch of tours.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics
Deciding that music was not ultimately where he belonged, Star ended up working at MAC and did some online videos. Quickly, he realized this was where to be and decided to take a big risk. As he discussed at length in an interview with Cosmopolitan, he risked his entire life savings on a dream of having a cosmetic brand—a move that takes some serious guts. As we’ve learned from a lot of the big success stories, though, the big risk is the one thing that they all seem to have in common, no matter who they are, or what field they’re in.
Today, Star’s brand includes eye and lip products, shirts, jackets, cell phone cases, and a lot more. It’s even sold in stores, as he recently announced a partnership with Morphe Brushes. He also runs a YouTube channel whose honest reviews sometimes create a little drama. He’s, however, extremely honest, as shown in a review of a viral product that didn’t live up to the hype. The channel also includes Q&A videos, makeup tutorials, and the earliest videos even give a glimpse into his musical side.
The interview goes in-depth on his work ethic, the downside of online fame, and how he’s trying to grow as a person. Check it out to learn even more.
Like with others, his Instagram seems to be the most popular. It’s @jeffreestar, and has over five million followers who get a glimpse into his life, brand, and more. His twitter is the same handle and has over one million followers. Over two million have liked him as Jeffree Star on Facebook.
