1.) Drink More Water

Starting your day off right with a 16 oz. glass of water offers a multitude of benefits, not to mention it helps with that morning dragon breath. It fires up your metabolism, hydrates you, and flushes out harmful toxins. This tip is served up by Personal Trainers and Dietitians alike! Did you know brain tissue is made up of 75% water? When you're not hydrated your brain is running on empty, which can lead to fatigue and mood fluctuations. If you've found yourself asking if drinking coffee counts as water (it doesn't) then perhaps a healthy handful of fruits can create a tasty detox water that will pique your interest! Drink up, your body will thank you!

2.) Stop Biting Your Nails

Let's be honest, chewed up nubs don't scream "professional" or "put together." There are no long term risks of nail biting, however harmful bacteria do thrive under the nail and can increase the risk of infection if ingested. Plus, chipped nail polish and hangnails are not really photo worthy, and you never know when the perfect cup of coffee might scream, "Take my photo!" If you want to be taken seriously in the professional world, you have to make an effort to look the part. Not to mention, it's refreshing not to feel self conscious about something as silly as your chipped nail polish.

3.) Take Off Your Makeup Before Bed

Going to sleep with your makeup on is one of the biggest mistakes you can make for your skin. Doing so blocks the pores trappingdirt and oil inside. Dennis Gross M.D. says, "This leads to bacteria build up, breakouts, and enlarged pores — which are many of the reasons women wear makeup in the first place." It's not just makeup, the pollution from environmental factors cakes in with the dirt, makeup, and oil to create a mask of filth which has been shown to cause premature aging of the skin. Ew, no thank you! If you don't have the energy to wash you face at the end of a long day, try keeping a pack of makeup wipes in your nightstand!

4.) Stop Photoshopping Your Selfies

Let's be real - this is unhealthy behavior. We understand putting your best face forward, however when the final result ends up looking unrealistic and nothing like you, what's the point? Focus on building up your self esteem and crushing your negative views of minor flaws and nitpicking at things others probably don't even notice. You have a pimple, the world is not going to end! You are beautiful justas you are, and you didn't spend an hour getting ready this morning just to be hiding face down into your phone trying to perfectly remove the bags below your eyes, you might miss Mr. Right as he walks by!

5.) Relax Before Bed

A good nights sleep seems impossible these days. It's no wonder why - we're emotionally connected to all things digital. We're glued to our phones, we work on computers all day long, come home to play on the computer more or watch T.V., and with the popularization of Netflix, there really is no time to unwind. Our minds soak up way more than we're able to comprehend, and they need a break from the constant stimulation to properly relax. Take 10-15 minutes to be free of anything attached to wifi, especially anything with a bright screen. This will give your brain some time to unwind, and prepare for a peaceful nights rest. We Guarantee you'll wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day!
